REVIEW:
Carly made my wedding bouquet into the most beautiful frame for me to keep. I searched all over for a person who knew how to preserve bouquets, but found them all to be ridiculously expensive and hard to find. But, when I heard Carly knew how to preserve flowers, I knew she would be amazing! She took all of my ideas into consideration and took amazing creative liberty to make a beautiful art piece that I will keep forever. Thank you Carly!!!
It was all worth it.
I started working with Tori and her mom, Terri, sooner than most brides prior to their wedding. This allowed me to aid them in every detail, from finding budget-friendly wedding decor to how to decorate their venue within the confines of the contract and still make it something spectacular. Some Saturdays, I would message her excitedly “I found these vases at the dollar store for only $1 each!” Terri found the most beautiful candle holders at Goodwill.
As a Western Michigan located wedding coordinator, traveling up north posed some extra hurdles. As Tori and Grant did the majority of the wedding planning in Holland Michigan, there was lots of decor to organize and transport, and forgetting something important wasn’t an option. However, we went through an extensive wedding checklist together, and—as always— I made sure to bring a “wedding day emergency kit.”
Working with the groomsmen was challenging at moments. One insisted that we put the candles in the vases BEFORE the water. I watched hopelessly as the team of young men followed their leader, pouring water right over top of hundreds of tea lights. As you can imagine… when it came time to light, half of the candles were duds. No problem though. I grabbed my husband, we snuck in there and replaced them with extras all before the couple knew what happened.
Was it worth it? Absolutely YES. The Cole wedding was nothing short of grand and every detail came together beautifully. When people ask me “Do I really need a coordinator?” I ask, “Can you afford to lose half your candles?” In all seriousness— the couple was a joy to work with. They were like Batman and I was Robin; they were the real stars of the show, and I came along to make sure they could shine.
